The most comprehensive 5.35 Gbps backplane upgrade solution available to date, the VSC3406 device is a multiprotocol, multifunction backplane transceiver with four cross-connectable differential transmit and receive interfaces, on-chip termination, and built-in signal integrity ideal for use in a variety of media such as PCB traces, cables, or optical fiber. VSC3406 features unique rate-multiplication modes that allow OEMs to double bandwidth capacity over existing backplanes. Combining innovative functions into a single device, the VSC3406 has in-line signal monitoring capability with Vitesse’s VScope™ input signal monitoring integrated circuit that embeds oscilloscope functionality into the CDR receiver.
